REQUEST FOR LETTERS OF SUPPORTFOR MERRILL GRAVEL PIT SPECIAL USE PERMIT

The Gem County Commissioners want feedback from the community, and so we at Granite Excavation, Inc. are asking our clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, employees, and friends for a letter of support for this Mineral Extraction Special Use Permit (SUP) for the Merrill Gravel Pit in Emmett, Idaho.
Getting this gravel pit approved is very important and for the long-term (next 10-20 years) will allow us to continue providing quality Gem County jobs, retail aggregate sales to our local customers, and supporting ancillary businesses in Gem County. Unfortunately, if this pit is not approved, we may be forced to shut off retail and local aggregate sales from the Sales Yard pit. The mineral extraction operations will involve approximately 5% of the property acres at a time and utilize less than half of the overall property upon completion. We’ve designed the mineral extraction phase to enhance the property, using the ponds as amenities, similar to other outstanding Treasure Valley developments.
 Letters need to be sent to Stephanie Crays (su.di.meg.oc%40syarcs) with Gem County Development Services prior to the next hearing with the Gem County Board of Commissioners.
